September - “Women’s Transformative Leadership for Gender Equality”
On September 17, 2020, the Council of Women World Leaders co-hosted a virtual event with UN Women and the Government of Mexico titled, “Women leaders for Generation Equality: A virtual intergenerational dialogue on how diverse leadership can change the world for gender equality.” Participants included, Prime Minister Jakobsdóttir, as well as Phumzile Mlambo-Nqucka, Deputy Secretary-General of the United Nations and UN Women Executive Director, Olga Sanchez Cordero, Minister of the Interior of Mexico and Tarana Burke, founder of the #MeToo movement.
