Biography
Park Geun-hye is the first female president of South Korea and the first popularly elected head of state in East Asia.
She graduated from Sacred Heart Girls’ High School (1970) and received a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from Sogang University (1974). As the daughter of a former president, she entered politics early in her life to act as first lady after the assassination of her mother in 1974. In 2013, Park won the presidency, which she held until March 2017. |
