Biography
Pamela Gordon-Banks was the first woman and the youngest person to hold the Premier position in Bermuda from 1997 to 1998.
Gordon earned her college degree in commerce from Queen’s University. Before taking office Gordon was appointed to the Senate in 1990, serving as the Minister of Youth Development (1992-1995) and Minister of Environment, Planning and Recreation (1993-1995). Gordon has been active in a number of organisations and campaigns concerning gender equality. Gordon also works with the Montpelier Foundation. She also serves on the Queen’s School of Business Global Council. Gordon has been honoured as a Dame Commander of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire by Queen Elizabeth. In 2013 Gordon received an honorary degree from Queen's University in Canada. |
