Biography
Pamela Gordon-Banks was the first woman and the youngest person to hold the Premier position in Bermuda from 1997 to 1998.
In 2004, Dame Gordon-Banks was honoured as a Dame Commander of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire by Queen Elizabeth. Before taking office Gordon was appointed to the Senate in 1990, serving as the Minister of Youth Development (1992-1995) and Minister of Environment, Planning and Recreation (1993-1995). Dame Gordon-Banks has been active in a number of organisations and campaigns concerning gender equality. She is currently serving as the Chair of the Selection Committee for the Rhodes Scholarship Global Constituency. Dame Gordon-Banks earned her college degree in commerce and MBA from Queen’s University Canada, and she serves on thier Global Council Board. |
