Biography
Najla Bouden Romdhane took office on 11 October 2021 as the first female Prime Minister of Tunisia and the first female Prime Minister of the Arab world. She left office on 2 August 2023.
Najla Bouden Romdhane has a doctorate degree from the École des Mines de Paris in earthquake engineering. She is an engineer by profession, and she was a Geology professor at the National Engineering School of Tunis. Prior to becoming Prime Minister, she held senior roles at the Tunisian Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, where she worked on the $70 million World Bank-funded program "PromEssE" to reform and modernize university education to help alleviate widespread unemployment among Tunisian graduates. |
