H.E. Magdalena Andersson, former Prime Minister of Sweden Joins the Council

We are pleased to announce that H.E. Magdalena Andersson, former Prime Minister of Sweden (2021-2022) has joined the Council of Women World Leaders. Her Excellency was Sweden's first female Prime Minister.

Ms. Andersson has had a distinguished career in public service. She previously served as Minister for Finance for seven years (2014-2021) and as Chair of the International Monetary and Financial Committee (2020-2023), the policy advisory body of the IMF. She was the first European in that role after more than a decade, as well as the first woman to hold that position.Her leadership has been marked by a strong commitment to economic equality, climate action, and social welfare.

We are honored to welcome her to the Council. Her wealth of experience and trailblazing leadership exemplify the values at the heart of our mission—advancing women’s representation and impact at the highest levels of global leadership.
