H.E. Yuliia Svyrydenko, Prime Minister of Ukraine joins the Council

We are pleased to announce that H.E. Yuliia Svyrydenko, Prime Minister of Ukraine, has joined the Council of Women World Leaders.

Svyrydenko has served as the 19th Prime Minister of Ukraine since July 17, 2025, following a government reshuffle proposed by President Volodymyr Zelenskyy. She is only the second woman to serve as Ukraine's head of government, after Yuliia Tymoshenko, who held the post in 2005 and again from 2007 to 2010.

Prior to becoming Prime Minister, Svyrydenko served as First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economic Development and Trade from November 2021, playing a central role in Ukraine's wartime economic strategy. She rose to global prominence when she flew to Washington in April 2025 to sign the Agreement on the Establishment of a United States-Ukraine Reconstruction Investment Fund with U.S. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent. She also headed Ukraine's Interagency Working Group on the Implementation of the State Sanctions Policy, negotiating with partner countries to strengthen sanctions against Russia.

Svyrydenko graduated with honors from Kyiv National University of Trade and Economics with a master's degree in Antitrust Field Management, and began her career in the private sector in 2008. In 2011, she was appointed head of Chernihiv's permanent representation in Wuxi, China, attracting Chinese investment to Ukraine. She entered public service in 2015 through the Chernihiv Regional State Administration, eventually becoming the region's Acting Governor at age 33 before moving into national government.
